- Claim your sedula, a.k.a. community tax certificate or residence certificate, it is considered the primary form of identification in the Philippines.

-It is issued by cities and municipalities to all citizens that have reached the age of majority and upon payment of community tax.

**Why do you need a sedula?**

You are required to present a sedula when you…

- acknowledge a document before a notary public
- take an oath of office upon election or appointment to a government position
- receive a license, certificate or permit from a public authority
- pay a tax or fee
- receive money from a public fund
- transact official business
- receive salary from a person or corporation
